Welcome to my practice

Join me in considering the path to our inner and collective healing.

I am an International Clinical Psychologist, Educator, Facilitator, and Social Innovator. I come to this work as a scientist, but one who has felt the profound transformation that comes from bridging the head and the heart and rewriting our stories in a way that acknowledges suffering and centers regeneration. Our work together will honor your path within a therapeutic approach that connects objective and ancient wisdom.

I am honored to explore what this space can offer you.

SPECIALTIES

SO YOU, super real, a bit challenging, I know I want to hear it.jpg

Individuals. Couples. Groups.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist, providing psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and groups. My approach to treatment planning is holistic, integrative, personalized, compassion-focused, and identity-affirming. Click below to read more about my experiences and approach to psychotherapy.

Attunement. Flow. Emergence.

In these sessions, we use a series of practices (e.g., breathing, movement, sounding, meditation, guided visualization, psychodrama, playful games) to transform stagnation, tension, and stress, so you can feel more in touch with the wisdom of your heart and body. These practices can help slow us down, raise our awareness, facilitate a flow-state, and offer reframing and soothing.

PARTNERSHIPS

  • Psychedelic Medicine & Restorative Justice

    Empathy. Support. Alignment.

If you are a facilitator or receiver of psychedelic medicine (e.g., psilocybin, ayahuasca, LSD, MDMA, peyote, kambo, bufo, ibogaine, San Pedro) and you have been harmed by a (co)facilitator of these sessions/ceremonies or have indirectly witnessed harm, I have received a grant via the Psychedelic Medicine Coalition to ensure that psychedelic spaces remain safe and sacred. I collaborate with experts to apply Restorative Justice interventions to heal traumatized dynamics.

  • Community & Collaboration

    Connection. Mutuality. Belonging.

If you are a shape shifter of any sort and want to collaborate with me, reach out and describe what you are envisioning. If it is a shared vision, we can meet, build trust, and cocreate.

  • “Dr. Lotfalian brings a powerful combination of brains and heart to her treatment space. She is kind, compassionate, authentic, aware, insightful, and fearless. No concern or struggle is too much. All is welcome in the non-judgmental, embracing space that she holds. While she already has nine years of diverse clinical experience, her personal transformational practices and service to challenged populations place her on another level of mastery. Her insights are not calculated, but based on lived experience and true wisdom. I cannot recommend her highly enough to those in need of navigating the challenges of life.”

  • “Dr. Lotfalian is the best of the best. Occasionally in life, you will meet someone who is doing what they are born to do, and it shows in their work. Dr. Lotfalian is one such case. She is passionate and caring; she is a great listener, and is fluid and flexible in her sessions based on what you are experiencing at that time. Dr. Lotfalian is very progressive, and will only push you as far as you are comfortable, sometimes purposely slowing you down if you get ahead of yourself. She literally saved my life, and gave me the tools to live a normal life. The fact that I am ok and still alive today is solely due to her expertise, unparalleled passion, professionalism, care, and knowledge. If you are lost and don't know where to turn, give her a try, it might just save your life.”

  • “I am so grateful to have found Dr. Lotfalian. Her knowledge and experience is obvious within minutes of speaking with her. She's validating when needed and challenging when required. She's also got a knack for reframing situations, thoughts, and feelings in ways that allow me to see where I am and what I want more clearly. I feel I've significantly improved since I started working with Dr. Lotfalian, and I would highly recommend her.”

  • “I started therapy with Dr. L during COVID-19, at time that was most challenging for me in many ways, from the loss of a parent to having to face past traumas that were buried deep within. I had tried therapy with with several other therapists and had not been impressed with the results or with them, as practitioners. However, now almost seven months of regular sessions with Dr. L., I can say she has made me a believer in the possibility that one can make significant life changes—for the better—with the right therapist. Dr. L. Is first and foremost gentle and empathetic. She has helped me reframe my thinking and behavior towards life stressors, triggers, and curve balls. With the right tools and guidance from her, and stepping in with the best mindset, I have evolved into the best version of myself and have transformed my life for the better. I can’t thank her enough.”

  • “I've been seeing Dr. Lotfalian for six months, and she has definitely helped me gain a new perspective and understanding of my mind. I had been with my previous therapist for a decade, so I was somewhat nervous about looking for someone new, but am very grateful to have found someone incredibly supportive, compassionate, knowledgeable and insightful. She has helped me reframe my thoughts, identify the patterns I keep repeating and enriched my life greatly in such a short period of time . I would highly recommend her and am thankful for her guidance.”

  • “I am relatively new to therapy, but I can honestly say Dr. Lotfalian has changed my life. From our first complimentary consultation, I knew immediately I would need not explore other options. Dr. Lotfalian initially made me feel so comfortable opening up at that first session, and has continued to do so. She is extremely empathetic, and I can tell she genuinely listens to what I have to say. She gives great insight and has provided me with new thoughts/ideas that have helped me work through my struggles. I feel grateful to have found Dr. Lotfalian and have her as a strong support system in my life.”

  • “This is about couple therapy for my wife and I. Dr. Lotfalian is a kind, perceptive and skilled therapist. She helped us move through very challenging times. We are the strongest as a couple we have ever been. She is also very proactive about helping us with referrals for individual therapy and parenting resources. Highly recommend working with her.”

  • “Dr. Lotfalian has been a bright light in my life. After a series of traumatic events in my life, her clinical perspective/feedback helped me find my inner balance once again. Her deep active listening skills, validation, mentorship, and quite frankly, just very honest feedback and conversations were lifesavers to me in a very dark year of my life. I would not have emerged from it without her expertise.”

  • “The best psychologist/therapist I have ever worked with. Perceptive, respectful, professional, experienced, knowledgeable. Not an understatement to say she saved my marriage.
